Britta is a student of African dancer, Deja Mitchell, and the Afro-Brazilian group, Samba Fogo. She has also studied, in workshop settings, Afro-Brazilian dance with the creator of the Silvestre Dance Technique, Rosangela Silvestre, African dance with Ibou N’gom, and Maputo Mensa, and belly dance with Zoe Jakes, Amy Sigil of Unmata, Ruby Beh and various others. She has also taken Polynesian, Bollywood and classical Indian dance classes. In her hometown, Britta taught Middle Eastern or “belly” dance, Latin dance, Samba, Zumba, and Women’s Vitality Dance with Tamara Anderson.
She recently formed a style of fusion involving the African diaspora dances she has studied and loves called Afrovibe Fusion Dance. This is really wonderful podcast with Jaimie Duggan from Body of Sante Fe, who teaches a very similar type of Afro-Fusion and body wisdom class in New Mexico.
